Dearest Daughters,
I am officially writting you here on what has become an all but lost blog space. Are people even blogging anymore?!
Its been a hot minute since I have written at all. And I would like to think that I am too busy chasing you two, but the more honest reason is that I just havent. Perhaps that part of me has moved on to a different creative outlet. Does watching Netflix shows count?!
However, my advice for you both has only increased now that we are in a new season of middle school especially. Its been such a joy watching you each accomplish good grades, test scores and afterschool activities. I am so proud of the young women you are growing up to be!
You each are finding your place in this world already in both 6th and 3rd grades, and I know that will only continue as you grow out of my house. Its hard to image your post-graduation lives. Im not ready, and perhaps I will never be. But I have no doubt that when the time comes you will both be ready. Ready for the next chapter and the ownership of choosing what you want to do, and I'll be cheering you every step of the way.
I found the perfect quote for when that day comes, and I want each of you to live by Maya Angelou's advice:
"You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don't make money your goal. Instead pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can't take their eyes off of you."
Go get em'
I will be soaking up each day with you both until then-
Until I write again,
Mom
