Be The Nice Kid-

 Daughters,

Some kids are smarter than you.

Some kids have cooler clothes than you.

Some kids are better at sports than you.

It doesn't matter.

You have your thing too.

Be the kid who can get along.

Be the kid who is generous.

Be the kid who is happy for other people.

Be the kid who does the right thing.

Be the nice kid.

-Bryan Skavnak

In my own words now,

Please be the nice kid and then grow up to be the nice adult. I have always said to you both that we are having these hard conversations or these consequences not because you cant make mistakes, but because I want you both to not get in the habit of doing the wrong thing and then become the adult no one wants to be around. -I think that actually is my worst fear as a parent. My hope is that I am leading by example, but that you two will be an even better version of a woman someday. There's enough people out there who are not doing anything that I quoted above. There's enough people out there that are trying to find their happiness with stuff. Or masking their unhappiness with busyness, food, booze, medications, etc. There's enough people out there trying to take other people down instead of building them up or cheering them on. There's enough people out there,

so be the nice one right here.

Get in the practice right now of not comparing yourself to anyone. Get in the practice of getting along and encouraging others. Get in the practice of learning from your mistakes and doing the right thing. Get in the practice of treating yourself with kindness and sharing that with others-
